The chemical sector is the nation’s fifth largest manufacturing industry in Canada. The Canadian chemical industry supplies essential products to key areas of Canada’s economy, including the motor vehicle, food, electronic, metals, and pulp & paper industries. The industry generates revenues of approximately $50 billion annually.
National association
The Chemistry Industry Association of Canada represents the basic chemicals and resin manufacturing industries which collectively produce more than 50% of all chemicals in Canada.The Chemistry Industry Association of Canada is also the driving force behind the Responsible Care initiative in Canada and plays a key role in the global Responsible Care initiative aimed at addressing public concerns about the manufacture, distribution, use and disposal of chemicals.
