How we're structured

ICCA is governed by a Board of Directors representing member associations and a Steering Committee responsible for oversight of several working level groups. ICCA is a virtual organisation, coordinating the work of individuals from member associations and their member companies. The Board of Directors is led by a President, the private sector CEO who chairs the association currently serving as the ICCA Secretariat. The Secretariat function, which rotates among the major associations, is led by a Council Secretary, who chairs the Steering Committee, and is the head of the association currently serving as Secretariat.

Energy & Climate Change

The Energy & Climate Change Leadership Group seeks to develop and promote a sustainable, comprehensive and globally aligned industry strategy that:

  • Enables development of innovative products and technologies to help meet greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction goals
  • Recognizes the GHG reductions already achieved by industry;
  • Ensures the security of energy supply;
  • Maintains industry’s competitiveness;

Four taskforces covering Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Benchmarking, Advocacy and Policy have been set up to facilitate these objectives.  The latter two are charged with developing strong policy and advocacy positions on energy and climate change.
The LCA taskforce is collecting and analyzing performance data to demonstrate industry’s contributions to GHG reduction; while the Benchmarking taskforce is coordinating development of consistent data collection, reporting and benchmarking methodologies among ICCA members.
