ICCM-1

UNEP sponsored the first International Conference on Chemicals Management (ICCM-1), in Dubai in February 2006. 

At its conclusion, ICCM-1 adopted the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM) which will provide the framework for future international chemical management arrangements and will strongly influence the direction of national regulatory systems from now until 2020. 

In a clear indication of its support for SAICM’s adoption, ICCA launched the Responsible Care Global Charter and the Global Product Strategy during the Dubai conference. The Global Charter and the GPS are cornerstones of its contribution towards SAICM implementation.
