International Conference on Chemicals Management (ICCM-2)

From 11 to 15 May 2009

ICCM-2 will be the first opportunity to review progress in the implementation of SAICM since its adoption in 2006. Similar to ICCM-1, ICCM-2 will perform its official functions as a high-level international forum for multi-stakeholder and multi-sectoral discussion and exchange of experience on chemicals management issues.

Among the SAICM issues to be addressed at ICCM-2 are: implementation; emerging policy issues; long-term financing; future direction; future reporting arrangements; and the exchange of scientific and technical information. ICCM-2 will itself be preceded by the 4th meeting of the Conference of the Parties of the Stockholm Convention. Future sessions of the ICCM are due to be held in 2012, 2015 and 2020, unless otherwise decided by the ICCM.
