Chemical industry
The Czech chemical industry represents 12.3% of the country’s processing industry valued at €14.85 billion. Products include: inorganic and organic chemicals; fertilizers; basic petrochemicals; primary form plastics; synthetic resins; synthetic rubber; paints; dyestuffs and pigments; agrochemicals; pharmaceuticals and cosmetics; soaps and detergents; chemical fibres; others such as photo chemicals; glues; explosives, etc.
National association
The Association of Chemical Industry of the Czech Republic (SCHP ČR) was established in 1990 to provide representation of the chemical industry’s professional and economic interests in the Czech Republic. SCHP ČR has 121 member companies (at end 2008) of which 64 are manufacturers, representing 61% of total chemical industry output.
The association aims to create the conditions for the dynamic development of the Czech chemical industry, and to defend the legitimate interests of its members in matters of trade, labor, health, safety and the environment.
