The global chemical industry has launched a
Responsible Care website -
www.responsiblecare.org - providing general
information about Responsible Care (its history,
coverage and objectives) as well as descriptions
of its members' Responsible Care programmes and
links to their Status Reports.
This brand new website also presents regular
updates on Responsible Care under News and
Events. Additional features include FAQs and a
Links section.
Responsible Care is the chemical industry’s
global voluntary initiative under which
companies, through their national associations,
work together to continuously improve their
health, safety and environmental performance,
and to communicate with stakeholders about their
products and processes.
Responsible Care was first conceived in Canada
and launched in 1985 to address public concerns
about the manufacture, distribution and use of
chemicals. The number of chemical industry
associations embracing the Responsible Care
ethic has grown from 6 to 52 countries since
1992.
