The ICCA Responsible Care® Status Report 2018 has now been published and is available for download here.
Providing the Global Picture for 2018, it gathers full reporting from 37 Chemical Industry associations from around the world as well as partial reporting from a further 12. The lead chemical organisations for four more nations have been added since the last Status Report in 2015, and the report details progress, performance, process safety and KPIs across Health and Safety, Environment, Resources and Distribution. It also features case studies highlighting a variety of actions across diverse markets from USA and Spain through to India and the Arabian Gulf.

Pakistan Chemical Manufacturers Association and Croatian Chemical Industry Association Commit to Responsible CareRyan Baldwin
The Responsible Care Leadership Group (RCLG) welcomed two new national chemical associations, in Pakistan and Croatia, at its biannual meeting in March in Berlin.
Abrar Ahmed, Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Chemical Manufacturers Association (PCMA), welcomed the RCLG’s decision and said PCMA “has achieved this milestone in a remarkably short timeframe.”
To date, 11 large Pakistani chemical companies have signed on to both the Global Charter and the Responsible Care Declaration of Support, with others expected to follow in the near future; implementation is under way at four companies, and PCMA has targeted three for independent verification by the year end. PCMA’s verification system is based on the American Chemistry Council’s RC14001 approach.

The French chemical industry association Union des Industries Chimique (UIC) hosted its third biennial Responsible Care Awards on May 26, back to back with the General Assembly.
The main purpose of the awards is to give visibility to the Responsible Care initiative and go beyond the key performance indicators (KPIs). They enable to illustrate the progress carried out by our member companies in the field of health, safety and environment protection.
This third edition showed the maturity of the initiative. Responsible Care awards are now well established and all the member companies do participate, from the smallest (10 employees, turnover of 1.3 million €) to the biggest (>1000 000 employees, turnover of 75 billions €).
